Yarin Didi

BIOGRAPHY

double sided

Yarin Didi (b. 1997) is a self-taught sculptor and maker based in Tel Aviv-Jaffa, and a third-generation member of a family of builders. His practice is rooted in direct, hands-on engagement with construction materials such as concrete, stone, plaster and building debris, alongside both processed and raw wood. His work with wood is driven not only by a desire to create visually compelling objects, but also by a wish to pay homage to local carpentry traditions that are gradually disappearing.

Drawing on his ongoing work in construction and building conservation, Didi’s practice is informed by a deep connection to traditional craft, as well as by a formal investigation of industrial forms within the fields of art and design. He exhibits across Israel and internationally, including in France and the United States, and is a co-founder of Mivtzar, an art and culture space in Tel Aviv.
